You’re a Building Structural Technician ready to take on more responsibility—leading delivery, supporting others, and influencing how technical outputs are produced. At Stantec, you’ll join our Engineering team in Birmingham, working across a diverse portfolio of projects within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. This is a role where you’ll play a central part in project delivery while continuing to develop your leadership and coordination skills.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will support the delivery of structural engineering projects through the production and coordination of 2D and 3D models, drawings, and schedules. You’ll ensure outputs are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements and programme.
Working closely with engineers and other disciplines, you’ll contribute to the integration of technical information across all stages of a project. You’ll also support document control and coordination with external stakeholders, helping to maintain consistency and quality across deliverables.
Alongside technical work, you’ll contribute to team coordination—supporting technicians, apprentices, and trainees, helping to allocate work, and maintaining quality across outputs. You’ll also be involved in site-related activities, assisting with inspections, surveys, and reporting to ensure designs are practical and aligned with construction requirements.
You’ll contribute to improving processes and workflows, working with colleagues to enhance efficiency, share knowledge, and support continuous improvement across the team.
YOUR IMPACT
You’ll play a key role in ensuring that technical outputs are clear, coordinated, and buildable, directly supporting the successful delivery of projects. Your work will help ensure designs are implemented effectively on site and meet the required standards.
Internally, your impact will be seen in the consistency of delivery and the development of others. By supporting junior team members and contributing to improved processes, you’ll help strengthen team capability while developing your own progression.
